STFC Futures Early Career Award 2023-24

 

The STFC Global Challenge Network in Batteries and Electrochemical Energy Devices promotes collaboration between world-class users and developers of large-scale research facilities and provides a forum to draw together researchers from a range of disciplines. The STFC Early Career Award is designed to enable mobility of researchers between UK and international institutions, offering grants of up to £2,000 for travel and subsistence, and £1,000 for consumables.

All applications must be received by the 16th December 2022.

 

01.
FUNDING MAY ONLY BE USED TO SUPPORT TRAVEL AND SUBSISTENCE COSTS (UP TO £2,000) AND CONSUMABLES (UP TO £1,000) DIRECTLY ASSOCIATED WITH THE APPLICATION. THE SCHEME IS INTENDED TO FACILITATE COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH AND THEREFORE APPLICATIONS SOLELY FOR CONFERENCE TRAVEL ARE TYPICALLY NOT ACCEPTED.

APPLICATIONS MUST BE MADE USING THE CORRECT PRO-FORMA BELOW AND MUST INCLUDE A COST BREAK DOWN.

ALL APPLICATIONS WILL BE JUDGED BY THE NETWORK STEERING COMMITTEE AND AWARDS WILL BE MADE BASED ON SCIENTIFIC MERIT AS WELL AS THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS TO MEETING NETWORK GOALS.

The early career award is intended to support researcher MOBILITY to undertake experiments at an INSTITUTION away from thier normal place of work, and this must form the major element of the project plan. applicants must involve at least one uk academic INSTITUTION to whom the grant will be awarded (either as the employer for researchers travelling outside of the uk, or as the host for incoming RESEARCHERS).

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT A SHORT REPORT, AND MAY BE ASKED TO PRESENT THEIR WORK AT EITHER THE EARLY CAREER RESEARCHERS’ CONFERENCE OR THE ANNUAL MEETING.

ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 16th December 2022.

ALL FUNDS MUST BE ALLOCATED AND SPENT BY 16TH February 2024.

ALL PUBLICATIONS RESULTING FROM RESEARCH WORK SUPPORTED BY THE AWARD MUST CARRY SUITABLE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF THE STFC BATTERIES NETWORK.
